The United States has issued a stern warning to Russia against positioning nuclear armaments in outer space, a move that would breach the 1967 Outer Space Treaty, which prohibits the stationing of weapons of mass destruction beyond Earth's atmosphere. This stance from the Biden administration follows a recent alert by Representative Mike Turner (R, OH-10) regarding a potential grave national security risk.

While specific details remain undisclosed, there is concern over whether Russia might be considering the deployment of a nuclear-capable or nuclear-powered anti-satellite weapon. The detonation of such a weapon in space would emit a vast wave of gamma radiation, potentially compromising or annihilating over 7,000 operational satellites that are vital for numerous global functionalities, including communication, navigation, economic transactions, space monitoring, and missile defense systems. American intelligence suggests that Russia could position such a weapon in space within the current year.

In a related development, the mother of the late Russian dissident Alexei Navalny has revealed that Russian officials presented her with her son's remains, alleging that she is being coerced into agreeing to a clandestine funeral service.

Television personality Wendy Williams is grappling with a diagnosis of primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, her representatives confirmed. At 59, Williams received her diagnosis last year and is now in a care facility, the location of which has not been disclosed.

Aphasia is a language disorder that stems from damage to a specific area of the brain that governs language expression and comprehension. Frontotemporal dementia, a brain disorder affecting personality, behavior, and language, is the same diagnosis that was disclosed regarding actor Bruce Willis last year.

"The Wendy Williams Show," which Williams helmed for nearly 14 years, drew an audience of over 1.6 million viewers daily at its peak. Williams, a six-time Emmy nominee, previously took a hiatus from her show due to complications from Graves' disease, an autoimmune condition that affects the thyroid. This health challenge was a contributing factor to the eventual discontinuation of her show in 2022. Since last year, Williams has been under court-mandated guardianship after being assessed as vulnerable to financial exploitation because of her health issues.

This announcement precedes a two-part documentary about Williams's life and career, scheduled to premiere this weekend at 8 pm ET on Lifetime.

The extensive service disruption that impacted countless AT&T customers on Thursday, leaving them without connectivity for several hours, appears to have stemmed from a procedural mistake rather than a cyberattack, according to the telecommunications giant.

Service interruptions began in the morning but had been resolved for all affected customers by the later part of the day. Following a preliminary assessment, AT&T has indicated that the outage likely resulted from the misapplication and implementation of a flawed procedure during network expansion efforts, as opposed to any external cyber threats, as clarified in their statement on Thursday night.
