The Kansas City Chiefs, last year's champions, and the San Francisco 49ers have earned their spots in Super Bowl LVIII following victories in their conference championship games yesterday.

The Chiefs are set for their fourth Super Bowl appearance in the past five years after a 17-10 win against the Baltimore Ravens on the road. Tight end Travis Kelce was a standout performer, catching all 11 passes thrown to him, including a touchdown, and surpassing Hall-of-Famer Jerry Rice's record for most playoff receptions, now at 151. The game's momentum shifted due to two crucial endzone turnovers by the Ravens in the final quarter.

Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers secured a 34-31 home win over the Detroit Lions. The 49ers managed to hold the Lions to just seven points in the second half, rallying from a 24-7 deficit at halftime to book their first trip to the championship since 2019. Christian McCaffrey, their key running back, contributed 90 yards on the ground, averaging 4.5 yards per carry, and scored two touchdowns.

Super Bowl LVIII is scheduled for Sunday, February 11 at 6:30 pm ET and will be broadcast on CBS. The event will take place in Las Vegas, featuring R&B sensation Usher as the headliner for the halftime show.

Today marks the beginning of a federal trial for the murder of Jason Mizell, better known as Jam Master Jay, a trailblazing figure in hip-hop who was fatally shot in 2002 at the age of 37. The investigation into his death remained unresolved for nearly 20 years due to stalled inquiries and a lack of evidence.

Karl Jordan Jr., aged 40, and Ronald Washington, aged 59, were ultimately apprehended in 2020, charged with shooting Jay in his recording studio in Queens. The motive is believed to be related to their exclusion from a cocaine distribution plan. Prosecutors claim that Jay was engaged in drug trafficking at the time, an assertion his family disputes. Both suspects have entered not-guilty pleas to the charges.

Jam Master Jay was a member of Run-DMC, a group widely regarded as one of the most seminal and influential in the history of hip-hop. Run-DMC played a crucial role in steering hip-hop away from its disco and funk roots, introducing a harder-edged sound characterized by incisive lyrics and distinctive beats. They also played a significant role in bringing underground fashion and cultural styles into the mainstream.

The social media platform X has restricted searches for Taylor Swift following the emergence of explicit, artificially generated images of the singer on the site.

Joe Benarroch, X's head of business operations, informed the BBC that this measure is a "temporary action" taken to enhance safety on the platform. Currently, when users attempt to search for Swift on X, they encounter a message stating: "Something went wrong. Try reloading."

Earlier this week, fabricated explicit images of Swift surfaced on the platform. These images quickly gained widespread attention, being viewed millions of times, and raised concerns among U.S. officials and the singer's fanbase.

Swift's fans responded by flagging the posts and accounts sharing these fake images. In an effort to combat the spread of these images, they flooded the platform with genuine photos and videos of Swift, using the hashtag "protect Taylor Swift."

Following the incident, X, previously known as Twitter, issued a statement on Friday clarifying that posting non-consensual nudity is "strictly prohibited" on the platform.
